Events Week 8 – 12th June
Dear Members,
Please read the attached document which details the bowling events involving our Club during the week beginning Monday 12 June.
On Monday afternoon, our representatives in the Senior Gents’ Bowls Scotland District semi-finals are in action at Currie. Jim MacKay will take on Balerno B.C. in the Singles and our Fours (Ricky Stevens, Tom Mitchell, Tony McBride and Bernie Callaghan) have a match against Colinton B.C. Both of these games are at 2.00pm. All the best, guys.
Please note that we have been asked to host one of the semi-finals of the Gents’ Junior Singles on our green on Monday evening at 6.45pm. As a result, the Hat Night will be restricted to 3 rinks.
On Tuesday evening, our Gents’ Bowls Scotland representative in the Singles (Stuart Campbell) continues his quest to qualify for the National Championships in July with a District semi-final tie against Currie B.C. at West End with a start time of 6.45pm. All the best, Stuart.
Then, on Friday evening, the Gents’ Bowls Scotland District 15 Finals take place at Sighthill B.C. at 6.30pm. Hopefully, Stuart will still be involved.
After a thrilling win last Thursday, our representatives in the EBA Aussie Pairs (Les Brown and Kenny Orr) have a semi-final tie against Dean B.C. at Whitehouse & Grange next Thursday (15 June) at 6.45pm. Good luck, guys.
On Saturday 17 June, we will be hosting the Finals of the Ladies’ Bowls Scotland District 15 on the green. In the Singles, Chris Bentley will have a match against Currie B.C. at 2.00pm. In the Senior Singles, Faye Stevens will be in action against Carrickknowe B.C. at 10.00am. Stick in, ladies. Please try to get along to the Club to support the girls in these important matches.
