Events Week 11 – 1st July
Dear Members,
Please read the attached document which details the bowling events involving our Club during the week beginning Monday 1 July.
Please note that the draw for the Senior Ladies’ Singles is now on the Noticeboard to the right of the Ladies’ locker-room door.
This year’s Ladies’ Clark Triples has been moved from Sunday 14 July to Saturday 24 August because of our involvement in the semi-final of the EBA Ladies’ Edinburgh Cup. We will check on the availability of those on the current list for the ‘new’ date in due course.
Our Senior Gents’ North & West Knockout Pairs and Fours have first round matches this week at home. The Pairs (John MacPhail and Alan Mather Snr) will take on Goldenacre on Monday afternoon at 2.00pm while the Fours (Angus McGarry, Ally Gibson, Sandy Powell and Scott Jackson) are in action against Willowbrae B.C. on Friday afternoon at 2.00pm. All the best, guys.
Then, on Friday 5 July, our Gents will be in action away to Maitland B.C. in the first round of the EBA Edinburgh Cup at 6.45pm. Stick in, boys.
On Sunday 7 July, we are hosting a game between the Edinburgh Ex-Presidents’ Association and the Paisley Ex-Presidents’ Association starting at 2.00pm.
Finally, a wee reminder of a few upcoming events :
- We are still looking for 3 gents to make up the required number for the annual Friendly at home to Carrickknowe B.C. on Saturday 13 July. This is always a very enjoyable afternoon.
- The annual Centenary Trophy will be held at 2.00pm on Saturday 20 July. There is still time to add your name to the list on the ‘Mixed’ Noticeboard if you wish to participate.
- The Strawberry Fayre is scheduled for 2.00pm on Sunday 21 July. This is an opportunity to get family and friends involved in a wee game of bowls accompanied by some strawberries and ice-cream. Please add your name to the list in the main hall in the Clubhouse if you want to attend.
- The annual Friendly with Centurion B.C. will take place on the green at 6.30pm on Thursday 1 August. We are looking for 3 mixed rinks for this match. Please add your name to the list on the ‘Mixed’ Noticeboard if you wish to participate.
- The annual Invitation Pairs is scheduled on the green on Sunday 4 August (start times to be confirmed). There is a list on the ‘Mixed’ Noticeboard for those wishing to take part. Please note that the Pair must consist of a CBC member and a guest from out with the Club.
