Events Week 17 – 14th August
Dear Members,
Please read the attached document which details the bowling events involving our Club during the week beginning Monday 14 August.
Firstly, congratulations to our Gents’ Third Team who won Division 1 of their EBA League for the second year in succession. Well done, guys.
Our Ladies begin their campaigns in the EWBA Championship games on Monday afternoon at 2.00pm. The Pairs (Jean Meiklejohn and Chris Bentley) will take on Dudley B.C. at Seafield and the Triples (Beryl Sutherland, Gladys Christie and Joan Mitchell) are in action against Carrickknowe B.C. at Liberton. Then, on Wednesday afternoon, our Singles representative (Theresa Blair) will play against Whitehouse & Grange B.C. at Juniper Green and our Fours (Val Mather, Jane Mitchell, Pat Clark and Evelyn Lowe) will take on Seafield B.C. at Whitehouse & Grange. If our Pairs and Triples are successful on Monday afternoon, then they will be in action at Leith and Balerno respectively on Wednesday afternoon at 2.00pm. Good luck, ladies.
In addition, we are hosting four ties (2 Singles and 2 Triples) in these EWBA Championships on Monday afternoon.
Our Gents have their annual Friendly at home to Blackhall B.C. on Wednesday at 6.15pm. We are sure everyone involved will have a great evening.
On Thursday evening, our Ladies’ representatives have semi-final games in the EBA Knockouts competitions. The Singles (Chris Bentley) will take on Tanfield B.C. at Sighthill and the Triples (Faye Stevens, Pat Reid and Theresa Blair) will play Sighthill B.C. at Dean. Both of these ties start at 6.30pm. All the best, girls.
If the Ladies are successful on Thursday evening, then they will play in the Finals at Whitehouse and Grange B.C. on Sunday at 2.00pm. Chis will take on either Goldenacre B.C. or Coltbridge B.C. while the Triples will be in action against either Tanfield B.C. or Summerside B.C.
