Please read the attached document which details the bowling events involving our Club during the week beginning Monday 27 July.

 

The EBA Knockout competitions continue this week with our Ladies’ Pairs (Cathy Souza and Michele Koeune) taking on London Road Foundry B.C. at Summerside and the Triples (Mo Crighton, Pat Clark and Joan Mitchell) in action against Currie B.C. at Liberton.  Good luck, ladies.  Both of these matches are on Thursday evening at 6.30pm.

 

Also on Thursday, our Gents’ teams will compete in their EBA Knockout competitions.  Our Singles (Jim MacKay) will take on Sighthill B.C. at Carrickknowe and our Pairs (Joe Blair and Keith Rutherford) are in action against London Road Foundry B.C. at Wardie.  Our Triples (Ricky Stevens, David Sutherland and Andy Lomax) have a match against Hillside B.C. at Braid and our Fours (Ronnie Clark, Charlie Sweeney, Tony McBride and Billy Samuel) will take on Trinity B.C. at Goldenacre.  All the best, guys.  All of these ties are at 6.30pm.

 

Then, on Friday afternoon, our Senior Gents’ representatives will be in action in their EBA Knockouts.  Our Singles (George Richardson) has a match against Maitland B.C. at Carrickknowe and the Triples (Les Brown, David McNiven and Bernie Callaghan) will take on Currie B.C. at Bainfield.  Stick in, guys.  These matches both start at 1.30pm.

 

Our annual Invitation Pairs competition will be held on 2 August (start times to be announced later in the week).  At the time of writing, we have 23 pairs on the list to compete.  There is room for 1 more pair to be added before we carry out the draw on Thursday.  First come, first served!!!

 

Finally, a wee heads-up for some upcoming events in August :

 

1.  The Ladies Championship Final between Marcia Norton and Joan Mitchell has been rescheduled to Monday 3 August at 2.00pm.  Please try to get along to the Club to support the ladies in this very important match.  All the best, girls.

2. Our Senior Gents have their annual Hyland Rigg competition on Friday 7 August starting at 2.00pm. There is still time to add your name to the list on the Senior Gents’ Noticeboard if you wish to participate.

3. The Gents will have their annual Friendly away to Blackhall B.C. on Wednesday 12 August at 6.15pm. There is a list on the Gents’ Noticeboard for those gents wishing to play in this match.

4. The annual Cathy Connet Trophy competition will be held on Saturday 15 August at 2.00pm. There is a list on the ‘Mixed’ Noticeboard for those members who wish to play.

5. Our Ladies have their annual Clark Fours competition on the green on Sunday 16 August starting at 1.30pm. There is a list on the Ladies’ Noticeboard if you wish to be involved in this event.

6. The annual Ladies vs Gents match will be held on Sunday 23 August at 2.00pm. There are lists on both the Ladies’ and Gents’ Noticeboards for those who would like to participate in this very enjoyable afternoon.

7. The annual ‘RugBowl’ match against Corstorphine Rugby Club will be held on Sunday 30 August starting at Noon.  There is a list on the ‘Mixed’ Noticeboard for those members wishing to participate in this very enjoyable afternoon.
