Events Week 7 – 3rd June
Dear Members,
Please read the attached document which details the bowling events involving our Club during the week beginning Monday 3 June
On Saturday 8 June, we will be hosting the Ladies Bowls Scotland District Finals on the green starting at 10.00am. Unfortunately, we do not have any representatives in these Finals this year but please try to get along to the Club to support the ladies hoping to get to the National Finals in Ayr in July.
On Monday afternoon, our representative in the Bowls Scotland Senior Gents’ Singles (George Richardson) will play his semi-final tie against Slateford B.C. at Bainfield at 2.00pm. All the best, George.
On Monday evening, our EBA First XVI have a rearranged League match at home to Goldenacre B.C. at 6.45pm. As a result, there will be no Hat Night on Monday evening.
On Tuesday afternoon, please note that the Hat Day has been cancelled as a mark of respect as Stewart Mason’s funeral at Warriston at 11.00 am and the wake in the Clubhouse thereafter will take place that day.
In addition, on Tuesday, our Ladies’ Fours (Faye Stevens, Ronnie McLaren, Gladys Christie and Pat Clark) have an East of Scotland District semi-final tie against Currie B.C. at Whitehouse & Grange at 2.00pm. Good luck, ladies.
Then, on Tuesday evening, our Gents’ Bowls Scotland representatives in the Singles continue their quest to qualify for the National Championships in July. Stuart Campbell is in action against Carrickknowe B.C. ‘A’ while Andy Lomax will take on Carrickknowe B.C. ‘B’. Both of these ties are at Slateford and start at 6.45pm. All the best, guys. Hopefully, both Stuart and Andy will be involved in the District 15 Finals which will be held at Bainfield B.C. on Friday 7 June at 6.30pm.
On Wednesday afternoon at 2.00pm, the Final of the Ladies’ Bowls Scotland District 15 Junior Singles between Sighthill B.C. and Colinton B.C. will take place on the green. Try to get along to the Club to see two of the best young bowlers in Edinburgh in action.
On Thursday afternoon, our Ladies’ Triples (Jane Mitchell, Pat Reid and Joan Mitchell) have an East of Scotland District semi-final tie against Bainfield B.C. at Currie at 2.00pm. Good luck, girls. At the same time, we are hosting two East of Scotland ties on the green.
On Thursday evening, our representatives in the EBA Gents’ Australian Pairs (Bernie Callaghan and Stuart Campbell) will take on Queensberry B.C. at West End at 6.45pm. All the best, guys.
