Events Week 15 – 29th July
Dear Members,
Please read the attached document which details the bowling events involving our Club during the week beginning Monday 29 July.
Firstly, huge congratulations to Theresa Blair who won a thrilling Ladies’ Championship Final last Friday against Chris Bentley. It was a tremendous match and a credit to both players. Well done, Theresa and commiserations, Chris.
The National Championships are being held at Ayr, Northfield this week. Although we do not have any representatives involved in these Championships this year, it is still a wonderful festival of bowls and well worth a visit to Ayr to see some of the best bowlers in Scotland in action.
Ronnie Clark will play his North & West Seniors’ Knockout Singles semi-final at home at 2.00pm on Monday 29 July against Blackhall B.C. All the best, Ronnie.
Unfortunately, our annual ‘Mixed’ Friendly against the Centurion B.C. scheduled for Thursday 1 August at 6.30pm has been cancelled. Apologies to those members who put their names on the list.
Our annual Invitation Pairs competition will be held on 4 August (start times to be announced later in the week). Currently, we have 18 pairs on the list to compete. There is room for 2 more pairs to be added before we carry out the draw on Thursday. First come, first served!!!
Finally, a wee heads-up for some upcoming events in August :
- Our Senior Gents have their annual Hyland Rigg competition on Friday 9 August starting at 2.00pm. There is still time to add your name to the list on the Senior Gents’ Noticeboard if you wish to participate.
- Our Ladies have their annual Clark Fours competition on the green on Sunday 11 August starting at 1.30pm. There is a list on the Ladies’ Noticeboard if you wish to be involved in this event.
- The annual Cathy Connet Trophy competition will be held on Saturday 17 August at 2.00pm. There is a list on the ‘Mixed’ Noticeboard for those members who wish to play.
- The annual Ladies vs Gents match will be held on Sunday 25 August at 2.00pm. There are lists on both the Ladies’ and Gents’ Noticeboards for those who would like to participate in this very enjoyable afternoon.
