Events Week 2 – 1st May
Dear Members,
Please read the attached document which details the bowling events involving our Club during the week beginning Monday 1 May.
Our Ladies’ Heather League team have their first game against Carrickknowe B.C. on Monday afternoon with one rink at home and one away. All the best, girls.
Then, on Tuesday afternoon, our Ladies kick off their East of Scotland B.A. campaigns with our Singles representative (Chris Bentley) taking on Gilmerton B.C. at Whitehouse & Grange at 2.00pm. Good luck, Chris. The Triples (Pat Reid, Pat Clark and Theresa Blair) have their first round match on Thursday afternoon at 2.00pm at Colinton also against Gilmerton B.C. Stick in, ladies. In addition, we have two East of Scotland ties on our green on Thursday afternoon.
Our Senior Gents’ North & West teams have their first League matches on Tuesday afternoon with the ‘A’ team away to Tanfield B.C. ‘B’ and the ‘B’ team at home to Trinity B.C. Good luck, guys.
The first Gents’ Edinburgh Bowling Association matches are scheduled for Wednesday (3 May) evening with the First XVI at home to Mayfield B.C., the Second XVI away to Queensberry B.C. and the Third Team at home to Gorgie Mills B.C. All the best, guys.
The RMBA League matches kick off on Thursday afternoon. Our ‘A’ team have a ‘Free Week’ while the ‘B’ team are at home to Mayfield B.C. Good luck, guys.
On Sunday, we have this year’s Try Bowls session. It starts at Noon and is an opportunity for family and friends to come along to the Club and have a wee game of bowls. It is aimed at those who have not played the game before but is open to all. Please invite your chums to have a go – who knows, we may get additional members out of it!!
Finally, a couple of reminders. The lists for entry to the Blyth Pairs, Club Pairs, Birnie Pairs, Davis Triples and Walker Fours are currently on the Notice-boards and need to be completed by Monday 8 May. The first Gents’ Friendly of the season at home to Gala Abbotsford B.C. will be held at 2.00pm on Saturday 20 May. The list for players for this match is on the Notice-board in the Clubhouse and we are looking for 4 rinks. Please add your name to the list if you are available.
