Events Week 8 – 13th June
Dear Members,
Please read the attached document which details the bowling events involving our Club during the week beginning Monday 13 June.
On Monday afternoon, our ladies have a second round EWBA Top Ten tie against London Road Foundry B.C. at home at 1.15pm. All the best, girls.
Please note that our Gents’ First XVI and Third Team have re-arranged EBA League matches at home on Monday evening while our Second XVI will take on Carrickknowe away. As a result, there will be no Hat Night on Monday.
Then, on Tuesday afternoon, we have two teams involved in the Ladies’ East of Scotland District Finals at Juniper Green at 2.00pm. Our Triples (Faye Stevens, Joan McBain and Chris Bentley) and our Fours (Pat Reid, Pat Calder, Gladys Christie and Theresa Blair) have matches and, at the time of writing, we do not know who their opponents are but, please try to get along to Juniper Green to support them in these important games. Good luck, ladies.
On Tuesday evening, our Gents’ Bowls Scotland representatives continue their quest to qualify for the National Championships in July with District semi-final ties. Our Pairs (Jim Connor and Bernie Callaghan) have a game against Carrickknowe B.C. and the Triples (Dougie Wilson, George Richardson and Stuart Campbell) also take on Carrickknowe B.C. Both of these ties are at Sighthill with a start time of 6.45pm. All the best, guys.
Then, on Friday evening, the Gents’ Bowls Scotland District 15 Finals take place at Whitehouse & Grange B.C. at 6.30pm. Hopefully, our Pairs and Triples will both be involved if they were successful in their semi-finals on Tuesday evening. All the best, guys.
On Saturday 18 June, we will be represented in four different disciplines in the Ladies’ Bowls Scotland District 15 semi-finals at Colinton. In the Singles, Chris Bentley will have a match against Carrickknowe B.C. at 10.00am. In the Senior Singles, Chris will again be in action against Juniper Green B.C. at 2.00pm. In the Triples, Faye Stevens, Gladys Christie and Moyra Ferrier will be in action against Carrickknowe B.C. at 10.00am. And finally, our Senior Fours (Pat Reid, Vicky Page, Pat Clark and Theresa Blair) will have a match against Balerno B.C. at 10.00am. Stick in, ladies.
