Events week 12th July
Dear members,
Please read the attached document which details the bowling events involving our Club during the week beginning Monday 12 July.
Firstly, the green will be closed all day on Monday to allow the contractor to apply fertiliser. Please note that there will be no Hat Night on Monday. Apologies for any inconvenience.
Then, on Tuesday afternoon, our North & West Seniors’ teams have league matches with the ‘A’ team at home to Queensberry B.C. and the ‘B’ team away to Blackhall B.C. Good luck, guys.
On Wednesday night, the EBA Leagues matches take place with the Section 3 team away to Gorgie Mills B.C. and the Section 8 team at home to Slateford B.C. All the best, guys.
On Thursday afternoon, our Retired Men’s Bowling Association ‘A’ team will take on Hillside B.C. at home in the first leg of the League ‘Playoffs’ final. Good luck, chaps.
Our Ladies are in action in their first match in the Edinburgh Women’s Bowling Association Triples League on Friday afternoon with a game against Blackhall B.C. with one triple at home and one away. All the best, ladies.
Then, on Friday evening, our Gents have their second round match in the EBA Edinburgh Cup against Craigentinny B.C. with three rinks at home and three away. All the best, guys.
The annual Centenary Trophy competition will be held on the green on Saturday 17 July starting at 2.00pm. The draw for this competition is on the Mixed Noticeboard. We are sure that everyone involved will have a wonderful afternoon.
On Sunday, we have our annual Strawberry Fayre starting at 2.00pm. There will be an ‘informal’ game on the green accompanied with strawberries and ice cream. Please try to get along to the Club and bring your family and friends to support this enjoyable event. Again, we are sure that all those participating will have a great day.
The Edinburgh Bowling Association Mixed Rink competition begins on Sunday evening. Our representatives take on Parkside B.C. at Maitland while we are hosting 4 ties on our green.
Finally, just a wee reminder that the annual Hyland Rigg competition will be held at 2.00pm on Friday 6 August. There is a list on the Gents’ Senior Noticeboard for those wishing to participate. Then, on Sunday 8 August, the annual Clark Fours for our Ladies will take place. Please add your names to the list on the Ladies’ Noticeboard if you want to be involved in this competition.
