CBC – Events Week 1
Dear Members,
Please read the attached document which details the bowling events involving our Club during the week beginning Monday 25 April.
While it is only the first week of the season, there are a few things happening but the number of events will grow as the season progresses. There will be an e-mail each week with the forthcoming events. We hope that you continue to find it useful. A copy will be posted on the ‘Events Board’ in the Clubhouse and on the website.
Our Ladies have their first Water of Leith League match away to Colinton B.C. on Wednesday 27 April at 2.15pm. Good luck, girls.
There will be a ‘practice’ match on Wednesday 27 April at 6.30pm for all players involved in the Gents’ Edinburgh Bowling Association teams. Copies of the Teams selected for this game and for the first EBA League match are attached for information. Please check the Notice-board in the locker-room and, if selected but unavailable to play, let Bernie Callaghan know.
Our Retired Men’s Bowling Association teams have their first League matches on Thursday 28 April at 1.30pm with the ‘A’ team at home to Merchiston B.C. while the ‘B’ team take on Willowbrae B.C. away. All the best, guys.
The Gents will have their annual Bowling Day at 2.00pm on Saturday 30 April. There is a list on the Notice-board for those wishing to play. Please add your name to this list as this will help with the organisation of both the bowling and the catering. Please note that dress for this event will be ‘smart, casual’ – no need for Club dress.
Lists for entry to the Birnie Mixed Pairs and the Club Pairs competitions are now on the ‘Mixed’ Notice-board while those for entry to the Blyth Pairs, the Davis Triples and the Walker Fours are on the Gents’ Notice-board. These have to be completed by Monday 9 May.
Finally, there is a list on the Gents’ Noticeboard for members wishing to play in the annual Friendly at Gala Abbotsford B.C. on Saturday 21 May at 2.00pm. Please add your name if you are able to be involved.
We wish you all an enjoyable and successful bowling season.
The Management Committee.
