Please read the attached document which details the bowling events involving our Club during the week beginning Monday 4 June.
This week, our Ladies are involved in their East of Scotland competitions with the Singles taking on Bainfield B.C. at Gorgie Mills and the Fours in action against Balerno B.C. at Blackhall on Tuesday afternoon. Then, on Thursday afternoon, our Pairs and Triples will be in action against Sighthill B.C. and Gorgie Mills B.C. respectively both at Juniper Green. Good luck, ladies.
In addition, our Ladies’ Senior Singles and Senior Fours all begin their Bowls Scotland qualification campaigns at Sighthill and Balerno respectively on Saturday. If successful, they will all have further games on Sunday. All the best, girls.
On the Seniors’ front, our Singles (Jim Connor) will be taking part in the Quarter-Final of the Bowls Scotland Senior competition against Liberton B.C. at Carrickknowe on Monday afternoon. All the best, Jim. In the ELBA competitions, the Singles (Bobby Brown) and Triples will be in action at Slateford B.C. and Colinton B.C. respectively both on Friday afternoon. Also, the annual Bob Horsham Cup will be contested on Friday 8 June. We are sure that a good day will be had by all.
Our representatives in the Bowls Scotland Fours continue their campaign with a match against Currie B.C. at Gorgie Mills on Tuesday evening at 6.45pm. In addition, our ELBA Pairs are in action at Carrickknowe while the Triples take on Dean B.C. at Mayfield in the next round on Thursday evening at 7.00pm. All the best, guys.
We are hosting several ‘external’ competitions on the green this week. We have 2 Ladies’ East of Scotland ties on Thursday afternoon; 2 Bowls Scotland Senior ties on Monday afternoon and 4 Gents’ Bowls Scotland matches on Tuesday evening. Please try to get along to the Club to see some of the best bowlers in Edinburgh in action.
We are also holding ‘Try Bowls’ sessions on the green on Saturday 9 June starting at Noon. Please bring your friends, family and neighbours to have a go at our sport – we are sure that they will enjoy the experience and we may get some new Club members as a result. In addition, we have another Mixed Hat Night at 6.30pm on that Saturday. An opportunity for friends and family to get involved.
Then, on Sunday 10 June, we are hosting the ELBA Under 25s against Midlothian B.A. at 2.00pm. The best young bowlers in Edinburgh will be on the green on Sunday; please try to get along to see them in action.
