Firstly, well-deserved congratulations are in order for Bernie Callaghan who won the Gents’ Championship on Friday evening beating Iain Ferrier. Well done, Bernie and commiserations, Iain.
Bernie will now compete in the Tait Trophy (ELBA Champion of Champions) with his first match against Colinton B.C. at Sighthill at 6.30pm on Friday 10 August. Stick in, Bernie.
On the Ladies’ front, our Fours (Pat Reid, Joan McBain, Gladys Christie and Theresa Blair) will play in the Final of the Water of Leith Championships at Bainfield at 2.00pm on Friday 10 August. All the best, girls.
The Club has the honour of hosting the semi-final of the Gents’ Edinburgh Top Ten between Currie B.C. and Craigentinny B.C. at 2.00pm on Saturday 11 August. Please try to get along to watch some of the best bowlers in Edinburgh in action.
There will be a Mixed Hat Night at 6.30pm on Saturday 11 August. Please bring family and friends along to this convivial event.
The annual Ladies’ Clark Fours competition will take place at 2.00pm on Sunday 12 August. We are sure everyone involved will have a great day.
The annual Cathy Connet Trophy will be played for on the green on Saturday 18 August. There is still time to get your name on the list of participants for this very enjoyable afternoon.
Finally, the annual Ladies vs Gents match will take place at 6.30pm on Thursday 23 August. There are lists on both the Ladies’ and Gents’ Notice-boards for those wishing to play. Please add your name to one of these lists for what is always a very enjoyable evening.
