Congratulations to our Ladies’ Singles (Theresa Blair), Pairs (Rebecca Rutherford and Jean Meiklejohn), Triples (Ellen Hay, Pat Clark and Joan Mitchell) and Fours (Beryl Sutherland, Joan McBain, Chris Bentley and Mary Birnie) who have all qualified for the District Finals of the East of Scotland competitions which will be held at Sighthill B.C. on Tuesday 3 July. Well done, girls.
Also, congratulations to our Senior Singles (Bobby Brown) who won his ELBA semi-final last Friday afternoon and have now made it to the Final against either Northern B.C. or London Road Foundry B.C. to be held at Parkside on Sunday 8 July. Well done, Bobby.
On the Seniors’ front, Jim Connor and Bernie Callaghan take part in the ELBA Matt Purdie Trial at Brunstane on Monday 25 June at Noon. All the best, guys.
The first round of the RMBA Top Ten is scheduled for the afternoon of Friday 29 June against Tramways B.C. at home. Good luck, boys.
There are also three games in the North & West Knockouts this week – all at home on Thursday afternoon. Our Pairs (Kenny Orr and Stewart Mason) will take on Tanfield B.C., while our Triples (Bob Savage, Davy Stewart and Donald MacKay) are in action against Goldenacre B.C. and our Fours (Colin Stenhouse, Eric McBain, Alan Mather Snr and Ian Murdoch) compete against Dean B.C. Good luck, guys.
The first round of the Gents’ Top Ten will be held on Tuesday 26 June at 6.30pm with a home game against London Road B.C. Please try to get along to support the players involved. In addition, our Gents’ Top Five take on Seafield B.C. at home on Thursday evening at 6.45pm. All the best to everyone involved.
The annual Mixed Pairs Millar Cup competition will be held on the green at 2.00pm on Sunday 1 July. We are sure that all involved will have a great day.
Finally, an update on some up-coming events on the green in July.
Firstly, the Ladies’ Clark Triples will be held on Sunday 8 July starting at 2.00pm. There is a list on the Ladies’ Notice-board if you wish to participate.
Secondly, our Centenary Trophy day will be on Saturday 21 July at 2.00pm. There is a list on the ‘Mixed’ Notice-board for those members wishing to participate.
Finally, the annual Strawberry Fayre will be held at 2.00pm on Sunday 22 July (please note the change in date from the Fixture Booklet). This is always a ‘fun’ day so please try to get along to support this event if you can.
