Events 20th September
Dear members,
Please read the attached document which details the bowling events involving our Club during the week beginning Monday 20th September.
Congratulations are in order for several members :
- To Iain Ferrier and Gordon Birnie who won the Senior Gents’ Nominated Pairs Final against George Richardson and Clint Cassidy last Monday.
- To Scott Mitchell who defeated Jim Mackay in the Final of the Gents’ Two-Bowl last Thursday.
- To Faye Stevens, Pat Reid and Joan Mitchell who won the Senior Ladies’ Drawn Triples Final against Christine Ritchie, Gladys Christie and Pat Clark also last Thursday.
- To Sandy Lyon, Peter Anderson and Donald MacKay who beat Stewart Mason, Ian Murdoch and Richard Bryce in the Senior Gents’ Drawn Triples Final last Thursday.
Well done to the winners and commiserations to the losers.
There are another two internal competition Finals to be played this week. The Ladies’ Sutherland Quaich between Jeni Morrison and Ann Douglas is being played at 1.30pm on Monday 20th. At the time of writing, there were no agreed dates/times for the Final of the Murdoch Trophy, between Jim Mackay and Ricky Stevens. We will let you know separately when this is scheduled.
Well, would you believe it? It’s the final week of the season. Doesn’t time fly when you are having fun!! We hope that everyone has enjoyed their bowls this year. In March, we weren’t sure if we would have any ‘competitive’ bowling at all this season!!
On Friday afternoon, the Ladies have their official Closing Day. We are sure that everyone involved will have a very enjoyable afternoon (and evening).
Then, on Saturday afternoon, it is the official Club Closing Day with the Secretary’s team taking on the Treasurer’s. Again, we are certain that all participating will have a wonderful day (and night).
However after discussion with the Green Contractor it has been agreed that play can continue for one further week, if members wish to utilise the green.
