Please read the attached document which details the bowling events involving our Club during the week beginning Monday 3 June.
Firstly, we are hosting the Bowls Scotland Ladies’ Senior Singles Qualifiers on Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 June starting at 10.30am on both days. Our two representatives, Chris Bentley and Theresa Blair, play each other in the first round on Saturday morning and one will have (hopefully) another two games on Sunday to qualify for the semi-finals later in June. Good luck, girls. In addition, we have two teams in the Bowls Scotland Ladies’ Senior Fours at Sighthill on Saturday and Sunday. One rink will take on Currie B.C. at 10.30am while the other is in action against Carrickknowe B.C. at 2.00pm on the Saturday and, if successful, they will have games on the Sunday. All the best, ladies.
Our Ladies are also involved in the semi-finals of their East of Scotland competitions with the Singles (Theresa Blair) and the Fours both at Juniper Green on Tuesday afternoon. Good luck, ladies.
The next round of the EWBA Top Ten will take place on Monday 3 June with our Ladies at Colinton at 2.00pm. All the best, girls.
On the Seniors’ front, our Singles (Jim Connor) will be taking part in the Quarter-Final of the Bowls Scotland Senior competition against Carrickknowe B.C. at Bainfield on Monday afternoon. All the best, Jim. In addition, our Fours will be in action against Sighthill B.C. at Colinton on Monday afternoon. Good luck, guys.
In the ELBA Seniors’ competitions, the Singles (Jim Connor) will play Slateford B.C. at Braid, the Pairs take on Summerside B.C. at Juniper Green, the Triples will be in action against Blackhall B.C. at Whitehouse & Grange and the Fours will be at Brunstane all on Friday afternoon. Also, the annual Bob Horsham Cup will be contested on Friday 7 June. We are sure that a good day will be had by all.
Our representatives in the Gents’ Bowls Scotland Pairs, Triples and Fours continue their campaigns with matches at West End and two at Parkside on Tuesday evening at 6.45pm.
Our Gents’ ELBA Pairs were unable to play their tie last Thursday evening because of the weather and will now replay this match at Ardmillan on Monday evening at 7.00pm. If successful, they will then play at Liberton on Thursday evening. In addition, our Triples and Fours are in action at Juniper Green and Colinton respectively on Thursday evening at 7.00pm. All the best, guys.
Our team in the Bowls Scotland Mixed Pairs (Pat Reid and Jimmy Sutherland) have been given a ‘walkover’ in their tie scheduled for Sunday 2 June and will now play in the semi-final on our green at 6.00pm on Sunday 9 June. All the best to Pat and Jimmy. Please try to get along to the Club to support them.
We are hosting several ‘external’ competitions on the green this week. We have a Ladies’ East of Scotland Pairs semi-final on Thursday afternoon and 3 Bowls Scotland Senior ties on Monday afternoon.
Finally, some reminders of up-coming events

2. The Ladies’ Captain’s Charity Pairs tournament will be held on Sunday 16 June. There is a list for participants in this competition on the Ladies’ Notice-board. Please try to get involved in this very worth-while day.
3. The annual Mixed Pairs Millar Cup will take place on Sunday 30 June. There will be a list for Pairs to take part in this competition on the Mixed Notice-board later this week. Please add your names if you can participate.
4. The Rotary Pairs competition is being revived in a new and exciting format (3-bowl, round-robin) on Saturday 13 July. The final stages will be held on our green. So, please add your names to the list on the Mixed Notice-board if you want to take part.
