Dear members,

Please read the attached document which details the bowling events involving our Club during the week beginning Monday 9 May.

The Edinburgh Bowling Association (EBA) Set Singles and Australian Pairs competitions begin this week. One of our Singles representatives (Scott Mitchell) has a match against Queensberry B.C. at Beechwood and one of our Pairs (Alan Sharp and Donald MacKay) take on Tanfield B.C. also at Beechwood. These games are at 6.45pm on Thursday 12 May. All the best, guys.

Our Ladies’ Fours kick off their Bowls Scotland campaigns with a match against Braid B.C. at Liberton on Saturday 14 May and, if successful, have another game at Liberton on Sunday. Good luck, ladies.

Our ‘Try Bowls’ event will be held on the green on Sunday 15 May starting at Noon. This is an opportunity for people who have not played our sport before to have a go. And, who knows, we may get some new members from it. Please encourage your friends and family to come along next Sunday to ‘Try Bowls’.

Please note that the closing date for entry into this season’s Pairs (Blyth, Club and Birnie), Davis Triples and Walker Fours competitions is Monday 9 May. So, there is still time to add your names to the lists on the Mixed and Gents’ Noticeboards. We would also encourage those members who have their names on the ‘Help Sheet’ on the Gents’ Noticeboard to approach others on the Sheet to form teams for these competitions.

Finally, the first Gents’ Friendly of the season against Gala Abbotsford B.C. is scheduled for Saturday 21 May at 2.00pm at Gala. There is still time to add your name to the list on the Noticeboard if you wish to play. We are looking for another 4 gents to make up the 16.
