Phase 3 Changes – Holding Statement

  • July 11, 2020July 15, 2020

As you are no doubt aware it was announced on Thursday  that Scotland is moving to Phase 3.  Bowls Scotland has issued some revised guidance and the MC are meeting on Monday evening to discuss what changes we can make, that will affect the club.  However we do already know that many things will NOT change.  Please therefore continue with the current procedures.

Still NO access allowed to changing rooms – Bowls etc. must be brought/taken away every time you play.

Booking a rink and sticking to the time slots is STILL required – Registering names of ALL participants must continue

Registering for the Honesty Bar for OUTDOOR drinking remains in place – We MUST know who is using it and when.

All hygiene and Social Distancing measures remain in force and MUST be complied with.

CBC – Bowling Returns??

  • May 21, 2020

All

President Les has asked me to issue the following statement.

In todays (21st May) statement, Nicola Sturgeon indicated that outdoor non-contact sports (including Bowls) may be allowed to resume on or shortly after 28th May, subject to ongoing restrictions on physical distancing, meeting up with other households and on ensuring appropriate hygiene measures are in place.

However it will not be bowls as “Normal”, unfortunately the restrictions will be likely to have an impact on how many people can be at, or on, the green at any one time and therefore the MC will need to ensure that all the required procedures and measures are in place. We have had an indication from guidance seen from other countries what these will be and have already taken some initial steps to enable us to comply, however we await the definitive guidelines from Bowls Scotland before outlining to you the members what is required to enable us to get back on the green.

PLEASE BE ASSURED WE AIM TO DO SO ASAP

David

CBC – COVID-19 UPDATE

  • March 19, 2020

All

FYI I attach herewith the statement issued last evening by the board of Bowls Scotland, you will note that ALL National Competitions for 2020 have been cancelled, along with a FAQ statement they issued this afternoon.

On behalf of your MC I would like to update you all on the current situation as far as CBC is concerned. Reluctantly it has been decided that to ensure the health of members and volunteers as much as possible, the Bar will remain SHUT until further notice. There may be some cost to the club in terms of stock going out of date but that is of minor importance at this stage, however there may be an opportunity for members to buy this stock at reduced prices. We would ask ALL members to take heed of the latest Government advice as unfortunately many of our members do fall within the high risk groups and therefore if you personally feel unwell, stay away from the club for the protection of others. (Small groups working around the club on maintenance issues will still be possible).

At this time the MC have decided that the following events are CANCELLED.

1. Coffee Morning – Saturday 11th April
2. Spring Cabaret – Saturday 18th April

We will update members in due course on decisions regarding the “Collection of Subs” Evenings on 22nd & 24th April and Opening day 25th April Itself, along with our plans for Internal competitions, obviously we will be taking into account Government decisions which are currently changing the picture daily.

Stay safe.

David
