Events Week 10 – 27th June
Dear Members,
Please read the attached document which details the bowling events involving our Club during the week beginning Monday 27 June.
Firstly, huge congratulations to Chris Bentley who prevailed in the Senior Singles Bowls Scotland District 15 Finals on Sunday at Carrickknowe. Also, huge congratulations to our Triples (Faye Stevens, Gladys Christie and Moyra Ferrier) who convincingly won their Final against Bainfield B.C. on Sunday. Excellent, ladies. Now, they will all be competing in the National Finals at Ayr in July. Well done, girls.
Our ladies compete in the EWBA Top Ten semi-final at Bainfield B.C. on Monday afternoon. All the best, girls.
On Saturday 2 July, we have the annual Bowls & Barbeque Singles competition on the green starting at 10.00am. This is always a very enjoyable day and we are sure that this year will be no different.
Then, on Sunday 3 July, the annual Millar Cup competition for Mixed Pairs will be held on the green at 2.00pm. We are certain that everyone involved will have a wonderful afternoon.
On Sunday evening, the EBA Knockouts begin with our Mixed Rink taking on Brunstane B.C. at Hillside at 6.45pm. All the best to those involved.
Please note that the draws for the Senior Ladies’ competitions (Singles and Triples) are now on the Senior Ladies’ Noticeboard.
Finally, a wee reminder of several upcoming events :
1. The Ladies have their annual Clark Triples competition on Sunday 10 July at 2.00pm
2. The annual Ladies’ Friendly against Kilmarnock B.C. will be held at 2.00pm on Tuesday 12 July at home. Enjoy your day, girls.
3. We will be holding the Centenary Trophy competition on Saturday 16 July at 2.00pm. There is still time to add your name to the list on the ‘Mixed’ Noticeboard if you wish to participate.
4. The annual Strawberry Fayre will be held on Sunday 24 July starting at 2.00pm. There will be a list in the main hall in the Clubhouse for those members (and family and friends) who wish to be involved. This is always a very good day. Please try to get along to the Club to support it.
