Please read the attached document which details the bowling events involving our Club during the week beginning Monday 18 September.
Well, folks. Would you believe it? – the “last” week of the season!! Doesn’t time fly when you are enjoying yourself!!
Firstly, we congratulate the Ladies’ Water of Leith team in winning their League – for the second time in three years. Excellent, girls. Well done.
Also, we pass on our congratulations to the following players who won the internal Finals played last week :
Bernie Callaghan and David Sutherland for the Seniors’ Nominated Pairs
Ricky Stevens for the Seniors’ Two-Bowl
Our RMBA team won the Final of the Knockout competition against Liberton B.C. at Portobello last Thursday. Well done, guys.
There are three more internal Finals to be played this week.
The Final of the Gents’ Murdoch Cup between Brian Henaghen and Andrew Aitken will take place at 4.00pm on Monday 18 September.
The Final of the Seniors’ Triples with John MacPhail, Gordon Munro and Bill Cumming taking on Ronnie Clark, John McLinden and Sandy Macniven is scheduled for 2.00pm on Tuesday 19 September.
The Final of the Seniors’ Drawn Pairs involving Ian Meiklejohn and Jim Connor against George Fortune and Alex Johnston has been provisionally set for 2.00pm on Wednesday 20 September.
All the best to everyone involved.
The Ladies’ Closing Day will be held at 2.00pm on Friday 22 September. Enjoy the day, ladies.
The Club Closing Day is scheduled for 2.00pm on Saturday 23 September with a match between the Secretary and the Treasurer. We are sure that everyone involved will have a great day.
As previously intimated, the green will remain ‘open’ for Mini-League matches and ‘bounce’ games during the week following Closing Day. But the bar will revert to ‘Winter Hours’ and will be closed on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
The first weekly Darts, Pool and Dominoes session will be held at 7.00pm on Monday 25 September in the Clubhouse.
Finally, re the Weekly Lotto
The final draw for the 2017 season will take place on the evening of Closing Day (Saturday 23 September).
If there are “Nae Winners” in this last draw, Ricky and the Lotto team will carry out further draws until a winner or winners is/are found.
Come on – take extra shots – you know it makes sense. Your support is very much appreciated.
The Management Committee.
