Please read the attached document which details the bowling events involving our Club during the week beginning Monday 21 August.
Chris Bentley will continue her EWBA campaign on Monday afternoon with a quarter-final match at Craigentinny in the Steel Trophy and, if successful, will compete in the semi-final on Wednesday at Bainfield and the final on Friday at Braid. All the best, Chris. In addition, we are hosting four EWBA quarter-final matches on the green on Monday afternoon. Please try to get along to watch these players in action if you can.
There are two Finals on the green on Tuesday 22 August. The Ladies’ Two-Bowl between Viv Pickard and Jean Meiklejohn is at 11.00am and the Seniors’ Championship involving Bill Cumming and Bobby Brown is at 3.30pm. Also, there are potentially another two Finals on Friday evening at 5.30pm. The President’s Final between Kenny Logan and Bernie Callaghan will take place and we hope that the Vice-President’s Final involving Bob Savage and Jimmy Vaughan will also happen on that evening. Good luck, guys and gals.
Edinburgh & Leith B.A. have qualified from their section in the Matt Purdie (Over 60’s) competition and will take on West Fife B.A. in the Final at Carron and Carronshore B.C. (near Falkirk) on Monday 21 August at Noon. We have 2 players involved in the team viz. Jim Connor and Bernie Callaghan. Well done, guys, and all the best in the Final.
Also, congratulations to our Seniors’ RMBA team who won Division 1 of their League last Thursday. Well done, guys.
The first of our Player Development session for Ladies will be held at 6.30pm on Friday 25 August. There is still space on the list of participants on the Notice-board in the Clubhouse.
There are several annual matches happening on the green this week. The Gents’ Friendly against Blackhall B.C. is on Wednesday at 6.15pm; the Ladies vs Gents will take place at 6.30pm on Thursday and our Mixed Pairs competition, the Millar Cup, will be held on Sunday 27 August at 2.00pm.
Finally, a wee reminder of some upcoming events on the green. The annual Sanderson Invitation Triples competition which will take place on Sunday 3 September. Please add your names onto the list of participants on the ‘Mixed’ Notice-board in the Clubhouse. The re-arranged Centenary Trophy game is now scheduled for Saturday 9 September at 2.00pm. Again, please add your name to the list of players on the ‘Mixed’ Notice-board. The annual Ladies vs Seniors match will be at 2.00pm on Wednesday 13 September. There are separate list for participants on the Ladies’ and Seniors’ Notice-boards.
